Description: This Very Rare Customized DID Figure represents a soldier in the Nordland Division of Germany's Waffen SS during World War Two. This DID Figure wears a German Army Tunic with the Runic SS patch on the collar, a Nordland armband and a Norwegian arm patch on the left sleeve. He is wearing German Army trousers, and half boots with leggings. He comes with a metal German Helmet with SS and Swastika emblems. There is a helmet liner with a chin strap that the helmet fits over. He is equipped with a belt/suspender load bearing system. Attached to the belt is a bread bag, canteen, mess kit, six ammo pouches, shovel rig, bayonet sheath, camo cloth, and gas mask canister. He is armed with a MP40 Submachine Gun, bayonet and shovel. This figure has the DID Jacob Blau head sculpt, body and hands. The Nordland Division was created to be a part of Nazi Germany's Waffen-SS Foreign Legion. They were Norwegian, Danish. and Finnish Volunteers. Nordland Soldiers were mostly Anti-Communists who viewed the Soviet Union as a greater threat. They were told that they would only be fighting the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front. The Nordland Division fought the Soviet Union and it's allies in Croatia, Romania, Leningrad, the Baltic Countries, Pomerania and finally Berlin. During the Battle of Berlin the last remnants of the Nordland Division were surrounded by the Soviet forces in the ruins of Berlin. A few score survivors found themselves in the rubble around the Reich's Chancellery when they attempted to make a breakout. Only a few succeeded. Most would be killed or captured in the final days of resistance.
