Description: Binding very worn and front board is close to separating. Rear board has some looseness also. Tissue guarding the Morse frontispiece is badly torn; some spotting and browning inside here and there but mostly pretty clean. Each month has a portrait--July is Morse; August: George William Curtis; September: Dr. Ignaz von Döllinger; October: Giuseppe Mazzini; November: James Anthony Froude; December: Norman Macleod. Most of the protective tissues are creased and or torn. Articles include: "The Late Solar Eclipse," witnessed in December, 1871; "South Seas Kidnapping," Beau Brummel; "Early Microscopes." and many more. Note: I try to identify any flaws in books as much as possible.
