A tribute to the life of William Laud, a bishop in the Church of England appointed Archbishop of Canterbury by Charles I in 1633. Laud was a key advocate of Charles I's religious reforms; he was arrested by Parliament in 1640 and executed for treason during the English Civil War. Written by the Reverend Canon Mason, an English clergyman. With notes from A. C. Don and Philip Thomas Byard Clayton, Anglican clergymen. Clayton was the founder of Toc H (an abbreviation for Talbot House), an international Christian movement. CONDITION In the original paper binding. Externally, smart with light bumping and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
