It is exactly the same size and composition as the U.S. 50 cent coin from the same time period. I used these coins in my change mixed with USA coins when I lived in the Canal Zone back in the 1950s and 1960s. It has been graded as Mint State MS 65 by NGC: KM# 20 NGC Cert # 2847505-004 NGC Description: 1953 PANAMA REPUBLIC ANNIVERSARY S1/2B NGC Grade: MS 65 Composition: Silver Fineness: 0.9000 Weight: 12.5000 g ASW: 0.3617 oz This is a very shiny BU Gem coin with minimal toning.
