Description: 1959 Topps #81 Hal Jeffcoat Cincinnati Redlegs PSA 8 NM-MT Mint This card is a High-end PSA 8 Hal Jeffcoat card with nice corners, straight edges, and centering measuring 40/60 (top bottom) in a clean, clear slab. Jeffcoat had the rare distinction of combining his time in the major leagues between playing outfield and pitching. He actually did both in the same season for only 4 games. He signed with the Cubs in ‘46 and played eight years with them, mostly as an outfielder and then as a pitcher for a couple of seasons. Later, with Cincinnati and St Louis, Jeffcoat was strictly a pitcher. He finished with a lifetime batting mark of .241. As a pitcher, over a six year period, his won lost record lifetime was 39-37. He left the game in 1960 after 17 games in the minors. ‘59 was his last full year in the majors.
