Description: Handsome large-format fold-out 1977 Amoco road map of Tampa, St. Petersburg, and vicinity, printed more than 47 years ago. The map opens to a generous 32½" x 25½". It has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally. St. Petersburg is on one side, with inset plans of Clearwater-Safety Harbor and the Palmetto- Bradenton-Sarasota area. Tampa is on the other side. The map was published by Amoco in 1977 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 77584629-17. The photo on the front shows the famous Big Ben Clock at the entrance to Louis Tussaud's London Wax Museum, 5505 Gulf Boulevard, St. Petersburg Beach. A dozen years after this map was printed, the museum closed and passed into history, another of Florida's lost tourist attractions. There's an ad for Coachmen Recreational Vehicles on the back cover. Condition: The map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with tiny breaks on a couple of fold corners and no marks or writing.
