Description: it is time to sell my '78 Silver 25th Anniversary Edition Corvette I bought almost 15 years ago. I bought this 78 Vette to replace something I lost 25 years ago in a horrible accident...I bought my C3 knowing not much about C3s, and wanting to replace something I lost. A "steal" at that time, and it only had 48K on it. I am the 11th owner of this C3, and the title proves it as it has a #1 as the 1st # on the title. 48K at that time with me being the 11th owner is impeccable mileage. Now it STILL has only 65K on it, and has been stored each and every winter since '09. Id then drive it home after fresh batteries, and priming the rebuilt Orignal #smatching factory Q-jet. For the past 10 years I have been filling up with ethanol-free 90 Octane fuel. Ive NOT done much to the car since I bought it, except "put it back" under the hood the way it should be from factory "clean it up", have replaced mechanicals such as a water pump, New HEI, wires, cap, and installed an L82 aluminum factory intake… ect...to also buying Original valve covers, painting them original oem Chevy "blue", because the valve covers that were on it were 80's chromed up rusted with the spin-on valve cover fasteners. Ugh!!... I have replaced the cheap radio/cassette with an original GM radio/cassette player correct for this Vette in 78, and replaced the electric power antenna correct for the car while replacing the old factory original exhaust/y-pipes front and rear with a straight stainless "true-dual" exhaust system from the manifolds-back to the brand new polished stainless-tipped correct factory mufflers as they should be. One thing leads to another when replacing things just to "clean it up" as I was doing some 14 years ago and so on... The car came with all factory options!!... except power locks?? which I didnt understand, PLUS it came with the "smokey" radio/cb/cassette player from factory, as my mechanic (RIP) told me at that time found the CB wire when replacing the power antenna, after tearing off the old exhaust. WOW. The lady I bought the car from, only drove the car as her "sunshine car" only when the sun would shine, hence "sunshine car". Nice lady BTW... SO NICE, that two weeks after I bought the car she sent me (in the snail mail) a bubble wrap envelope with the Original factory 78 Silver Anniversary Edition Keys with the Anniversary Edition medallions still attached to both the door key and the ignition key!! One medallion missing from the door key as to tell which key was ignition or the door, and I still have them (in the bubble-wrap envelope) locked up, and have used the "spare" aluminum keys for the cars driving usage. The car has not left PA... ITs stayed around central Pa all its life... it was first bought near Towanda, Pa. I have a flash drive of this car being assembled at the St. Louis plant from frame to finish that a parts guy from "Corvette America" got for me years ago from the Corvette Museum. Three years ago, my "auto-body guy" stopped here at my house because I backed into my outdoor gas grill and caused a bit of damage to the rear bumper cover by the rear plate. (see pics) He was my estimator for the damage to the rear bumper. Long story short, he was all OVER the car. In finality, I wanted him to confirm to me a question I had about this Vette's originality?? I didnt even have to ask him as he told me all I need to know about my Vette when he spoke these words to me, "Mmmm. What you have here,MMM… is a survivor!!"... My hunches became reality with his words... and that's all I needed to hear. This car is #2560 (LOW prod #) off the line in St. Louis (factory burned down)... according to the VIN, It has a 1 of 1200 factory Dark Saffron Red leather-wrapped-cloth-topped interior seat package, which I have NOT seen any other 78 Anniv Edit Vettes with this seat package anywhere, plus "they" (Corvette America), or any other companies, do NOT make/reproduce this interior YET for this Vette seat package. No way. The car is in disrepair... it can not be driven away at this point... I will fix the right front caliper to see if this is the brake issue that has been nagging me for years, so it can be moved and driven possibly onto a trailer to be towed.I have 2 additional sets of mirror glass tops for this car that are included in the price (please see pics)... one pair is the "blue" the other is the "bronze" tops... the car has the fiberglass silver painted tops on NOW.A cover I had on it, made a white "splotch" on the hood with moisture...I have a brand new cover on it now!! Goes with!! I dont know if its calcium?? Idk what the heck happened please see pics... thanks and happy bidding/buying.I have numerous "parts", manuals, ect that go with this car... please ask me for details on this...lotta extras go with car if paying full price!!Being honest, this car needs a lotta work to be top-notch, but not a lotta work to be driveable. fix brakes, it can be driven.IF you need more pics, I will oblige fully... car must go!! Bigger fish to fry. wink...Dan J.
