Description: Beautiful pair of Renaissance Revival Chairs made from Quarter Sawn Oak (I believe). I am not a furniture expert, sob please ask any questions, and I can send more details photos, or you could come see them first, I am on the Northside of Chicago. They are both a little loose and one has an angle bracket repair where the back leg meets the seat. I would guess the upholstery is original. It is very old red velvet with curly black hair stuffing, wool, I guess? Each seat has one little tear about 1" long. The wood carvings are amazing! The scroll work on the seat backs are relief-carved on the back, they are not appliques. The lions are all beautifully carved on the same piece of wood as the entire back leg, they're not separate pieces. The front legs are in good shape, just lightly chewed up on some of the high edges. They are carved as one piece, but made out of a few pieces of lumber. I would be willing to bring them to a local shipping service if you would arrange it and take all responsibility for it.
