Description: RARE FIND! From the city of Orvieto, in the Umbria Region of Italy Antque 1920's Handmade Pottery Dinnerware. If you are used to deruta you'll be amazed at how thin these ceramic pieces are and how beautifully painted. The Umbria region is renowned for it's pottery, produced there for 100's of years. Add to this that the Artist in charge of the factory from 1920 to 1930 was a well known artist, Lario Ciaurro, who hand painted and signed these pieces. That is why this pottery is highly sought after and collectable. These pieces are 100 years old so there are some chips, two on one soup bowl and one on the other, 10 on one plate and four on the other, these are all surface chips which are not visible unless you are inspecting carefully. I've researched this type majolica and chips on pieces this old are common. I've shown some of the chips in the photos. Bowls measure 6 1/2" wide and 2" high, the plates are 7 3/4" in diameter. I ship FedEx Ground Insured.
