Description: This is a hard-to-find antique sterling silver souvenir spoon engraved August 26, 1908 on the back of the bowl, always a nice touch, because it really helps date the item. The goldwashed bowl is hand-engraved and shows a pine tree on a mountain and "Lone Pine Nevada City, Cal." It has a detailed California State handle, front and back. Very good condition with minor surface wear and a bit of normal tarnish from age. It is about 5-1/2" long and weighs about 16.8 grams. Maker's marks: "Sterling" with the crossed pick and shovel for Mayer & Bros, a Seattle, Washington jeweler who made good souvenir spoons, mostly with western United States themes.
