This motor kit is intended for the early version locomotives with the square motor or the later round motor mounted in the cab. NOTE! Be sure to check to see if your engine has a square motor or a round motor in the cab before purchasing this kit. This kit WILL NOT WORK in new red box versions of locomotives that have a gold colored flat can motor mounted inside the boiler. If you need to repower a Rivarossi 2-8-2, 2-8-4, or 2-10-2 locomotives, or articulated locomotives, please see my other auctions. This motor kit WILL NOT WORK in the GG1, E8, U23C, or Kraus Maffei locomotives. If you have any questions, please contact me before purchasing this kit. This may save you the hassle of returning the kit. This motor kit will provide smoother low speed operation, A LOWER TOP SPEED and operating noise will be reduced. This motor kit IS NOT recommended for large or articulated AHM Rivarossi steam locomotives. I have motor kits for these locomotives, please see my other auctions. If you have any questions please contact me. The motor measures 25mm long x 20mm high x 15mm wide, the motor shaft is 8mm long and 2mm in diameter. At 12 volts DC with no load the motor draws 50ma and develops 7600 rpm, the stall current is 800ma. This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC. This motor is DCC compatible. The photo shows what the motor kit would look like installed on a Rivarossi 4-6-2 Pacific chassis. PLEASE NOTE: The chassis that is shown in the photo IS NOT included with the motor kit.
