Description: This is a stunning unique antique Victorian 1897 solid silver watch chain with a bulldog clip, a t-bar and a shield shaped fob or medal. The piece weighs 64.68g. The watch chain measures 16 inches long (not including the fob). The bulldog clip at one end has a stamp and each of the chunky oval links are stamped with the lions passant. The smooth t-bar in the centre of the piece measures 4.2cm long. The ornate fob at the other end of the chain is stamped with a full Birmingham hallmark with the makers 'Charles Edward Soloman initials' 'CES' along with the date stamp 'x' (1897). The shield shaped fob measures 3.6cm long and 2.7cm wide and it hangs on a round bail. It has a smooth raised shield shape in it's centre either side with a highly decorative pattern of scrolls and swirls running around the edge that create a scalloped edge.
