Description: Antique Early 19thC English Blue Willow Square Meat Platter Drainer 5 3/4" This is an antique Blue Willow Meat Drainer Plate. Measuring 5 3/4" wide x 5 3/4" x 5/8" high. Designed to sit in a larger size plate or platter allowing meat to drain through the holes. The Blue Willow chinoiserie pattern on the plate features the following, Two Birds flying over a Pagoda, Three Figures on a Bridge, A Willow Tree & Apple Blossom Tree, a Fence and a Boat. The drainer has one large hole in the center and several smaller holes for drainage. Condition is very, very good. No chips, cracks or repairs. The blue is bold and vivid and the glaze is a high gloss. Under magnification I was able to see crazing throughout which is hard to notice. There are a couple of minuscule indents and a minuscule bump that wee probably done during the manufacturing process. On the underside there is age discoloration line marks and around the underside rim and sides scuffs. On the underside around the bottom rim there is a minuscule 1/4" x 1/8" rough area see our last photo.
