Description: This work of art is a beautiful representation of the 1920's Golden age of Art in the style of R. Atkinson Fox and Maxwell Parrish. It is an antique litho print entitled "Cupid's Silken Fetters" by renowned British artist, Marygold Tsanya aka Marion Cecelia Crowe (1896-1979). The frame is solid wood with a glass front made by the White Seid Products company of Baltimore, MD, known for their elaborate, gilt mirrors. The frame is rectangular with cut cove corners with a notch pattern. It measures 19 1/2" wide, 11 1/2" long and is 3/4" thick. The wood is dark brown with a raised ridge center that once had gold gilt accents, however most of that has worn off. The frame has wear and nicks here and there but is still sturdy. The beautiful print is typical Art Deco style for the era. It features an outdoor, night scene of 2 lovers sitting on a balcony wall dressed in their finest clothing. Cupid stands on a post platform nearby overlooking the scene. Flowers in pink, blue and teal decorate the scene with a tasseled Chinese lantern hanging in the background. The print still has vibrant colors and shows no signs of damage, stains, mold or foxing. The print itself measures 18" wide by 10" long. Most of the dust paper is gone from the frame backing but I have taped what remains as it contains the original White Seid Products label. The label lists the print size, framer's initial and price in pencil and piece #4045. It appears the print is affixed to hardboard that is mounted into the frame with nails along the edges as was common at the time. Lovely piece of art from a bygone era of romanticism and elegance that is a unique addition for any collector.
