They have been hand carved out of wood, in a lovely branch design, in a typical Black Forest manner.They are both marked with the same maker's mark on the back. It is quite rare to have a pair of these older Black Forest frames.They stand with a easel stand, which is attached on the back. The angle of the easel can be adjusted a bit to your preference. They were made around 1880-1900, in France. Dimensions:Total height: about 5 inch or 12.5 cmTotal width: about 3 1/2 inch or 9 cmMade for picture size: 3 3/4 inch x 2 1/4 inch or 9.5 cm x 5.8 cm Condition: Good antique condition, some minor wear and either some tiny losses or carving imperfections around some of the branch endings on the corners. They comes with their glass, which are unpolished/rough around the edges and 1 glass has a tiny fleabite to the corner, which is not visible when mounted in the frame.
