Description: A Stunning and Rare Antique KTK Lotus Ware Thebian Vase, Handprinted w/Green Flowers & Gold Applied Step Form Handles. This vase is 8 1/4" tall with a double gourd shaped form - a magnificent shape with beautiful colored painting. This is similar in shape and size to the Thesbian Vase shown on page 33 of the "Knowles, Taylor & Knowles American Bone China" reference book by Timothy J. Kearns. The vase is in pristine condition - no chips or flakes or wear on the gold. The bottom show a few spider veins....but they do not penetrate. It is marked with the KTK Lotus Ware mark on the bottom which dates it from 1889 - 1896. Lotus ware was made for only a short period of time in East Liverpool, Ohio, and is considered rare and highly collectible.
