This #8 Mine Turquoise is of the HIGHEST QUALITY and has Beautiful Sky Blue Color with a chocolate and golden colored matrix. This is all natural Turquoise that is not color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. The #8 Turquoise mine in Eureka County north of Carlin Nevada was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929 until its depletion. The mine was closed as a result of the discovery of gold in 1976 when the Newton Gold Company claimed the area. In its prime, the Number 8 mine produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever found. This Turquoise is a Rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. Aside from some naturally occurring pitting this turquoise gemstone is otherwise in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, chips, nicks, or breaks. The interior of the ring stamped "OB" which is the hallmark for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This Solid Sterling Silver Setting has Classic 1920's Deco Architectural Shoulder Details. This classic ring has beautiful hand milgrained detials. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The darker oil slick look in the details and recessed areas is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. If you would like us to polish the ring further to remove this patina just let us know, it is no problem at all. This ring is fully hallmarked "STERLING" and tests as and is guaranteed to be Solid Sterling Silver. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Sterling Silver not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear. This is an Antique Ostby & Barton 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. The rings are cleaned using an ultraviolet UV-C sterilizer disinfection box that sterilizes without the use of any chemicals that might damage the gemstone. Regarding Ring Sizing: Be wary of any online seller that offers sizing of a ring before it is shipped to you. Due to differences in measuring devices and the way certain types of rings fit these rings should only be sized in person by your local jeweler. Sizing by your local jeweler is relatively inexpensive and you will have a ring that properly fits your finger. All size 9 rings are not the same. The ring may fit on a mandrel and measure as a size 9 but the way the ring is made, the way the ring has been enlarged or reduced, and the finger type you have may make it fit like an 8 or 10 or worse. Have your sizing done in person for a proper fit. If you don't know your ring size you can Google search findmyringsize and use their online tool. They also have a conversion tool for converting US ring sizes to international sizes. Bid with confidence we are a longtime eBay seller with 1000's of positive feedbacks. Our rings are CHECKED and CLEANED (unless otherwise stated) by our JEWELER so condition is not a problem We make every effort to represent our rings accurately by listing the weight of our rings down to the tenth of a gram and dimensions to the mm. Please use these measurements to gauge heft and scale. An explanation of the measurements in the "Ring Size & Measurements" section. The tall measurement is the distance from the bottom or shank of the ring to the middle peak of the gemstone most easily measured when wearing the ring and placing the hand flat on the table and measuring the height of the ring from the table. The wide measurement is the width of the ring from outside to outside at the widest point when looking at the ring from the top. The rise from the finger measurement is the height of the ring from the finger to the peak of the gemstone when worn. In the final photo the tick marks on the L-Square are 1 millimeter apart. All of our photos are taken using DAYLIGHT BULBS with a color temperature of 5000k so the colors in the photos are extremely close to a true representation of the actual color of the rings and gemstones.
