Description: Fresh from a fine New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this beautiful Antique Burl Walnut Slant Front Desk with Fitted Interior. English made beauty, dating to the very begining of 20th century. Standing on four tall curved Queen Anne style legs, featuring large sea shell carvings on the corners. Above the legs is a single wide drawer with two bronze / brass handles, and flanking it are a pair of slides, which are pulled out to serve as support for the drop front door above. Door (lid) has it's original lock and key, when opened it reveals a leather writing surface (on the back of the door), small door and a drawer in the center, and a bunch of letter compartments. The table was used plenty for writing, however kept very well, hence showing light age / use wear on outside, interior good, leather worn (please see photos). Size is great for any room, 40.5" in height, 26" widest point, 17" deep, and knee clearance is 24" height to apron. This beauty queen will gracefully serve generations to come, good with traditional or mid-century modern setting!
