Description: DESCRIPTION- A lozenge-shaped antique Victorian wedding/engagement box, estimated circa the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. This ring box is covered in maroon-coloured leather and lined with ivory-coloured satin and light teal-coloured (greenish-blue) velvet. It would add a unique touch to your proposal, engagement shoot or wedding ceremony or accompany a treasured piece of jewelry. MARKS- n/a (The interior is blank; no jewelry retailer information is available) MEASUREMENTS- Length: Approx. 27.0 mm- Width: Approx. 23.0 mm at its widest point- Height: Approx. 31.9 mm- The ring slot can accommodate a ring with a thin to narrow-width band (up to approx. 2.0 mm) CONDITION - Overall, the ring box is in lovely antique condition and still enjoyable for many more years to come. It bears signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Surfaces have marks and scratches that one would expect in a piece of this age. These ‘imperfections’ add character to the piece rather than take away from it- There is wear/loss to the leather, including scuffs, marks, patina and discolouration. There is a loss of leather on the left-hand side of the lid (shown in images 9 - 10), plus a dent on the left-hand side of the ring box (shown in images 10 - 14)- The interior is clean and does not have any unpleasant scent- There is light wear/loss to the satin and velvet, including marks and discolouration. Note: There is a spot on the lower right-hand side of the lid/satin- The hinge, hook, and eye closure work well. The closure is secure. There is a minor gap between the lid and the base when the ring box is closed (visible on the right-hand side of the ring box)- All of the above are shown in the photos provided.
