Here we have a wonderful, original Bellova model 8734 bankers lamp desk shade. There is no base.......the listing is for the shade only. Bellova was made by H.G. McFaddin & Co., the same company that made Emeralite desk lamps. McFAddin always put their Bellova 8734 shades on their Emeralite 8734 bases. Please note that while there are many different styles of 8734 bases, any 8734 shade will fit onto any 8734 base. So, since this is a model 8734 shade, it will fit onto your 8734 base, regardless of whether your base is round or square, tall or short, or it's a desk lamp or a floor model, etc.. The shade does not have any chips along the bottom front edge, so it presents beautifully. However, there are two small cracks, one on each side of the shade.....not in the front or the back. Apparently, someone damaged the shade when either installing or removing it. Each crack is about 1" long and since they are on the sides, where the exposed bottom part of the shade meets the front of the brass shade holder, they are very difficult to see. In fact, because the two cracks only go from the bottom edge of the shade into the bottom edge portion of the shade, they get visually lost in the acid etching of the glass and the reverse painting on the inside boarder of the shade. Bottom line.....put this shade on your Emeralite 8734 model base and no one will ever the wiser. If this shade were perfect it would be worth at least three times the price. This way, you get to enjoy and show off your lamp for a fraction of what you would need to spend on a perfect example.....if you could even find one. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing.
