Because the flying schools in the United States denied her entry, she taught herself French and moved to France to earn her pilots license from France's Caudron Brother's School of Aviation. It took her just seven months! Coleman specialized in stunt flying and parachuting, and earned a living barnstorming and performing aerial tricks. She has remained a pioneer of women in the field of aviation. Bessies doll set comes with a fully poseable Bessie doll, a biography detailing her life, and a pilots log for an aspiring little girl to practice for her future flights. Bessie is dressed in her flight uniform, designed by her when she got her license. The uniform has leather trim on her jacket, a hat with an embroidered eagle and leather boots. (Please note clothing is NOT real leather but this is what is mimicked from the uniform she designed) Bessie also comes with a small Pilot's Log for you to record pretend flights, or your own dreams!
