Butch was also a Navy Ace in WWII. This print is 18x24". Butch autographed each print in soft pencil so each autograph is still fresh after all of these years. I only have about 150 of these left and he only signed 500.I started this series of Aviation Art to tell the story of a famous aviator and how he became famous with artwork of his aircraft along with a short story of his adventures in that aircraft.Plus, this is a RARE signature! Butch told me that his men flew this heavy beast until they changed over to the lightweight Bearcat. This IS History!Butch said that it was fun to do a "barrel roll" in this fast fighter when you were by yourself...but he said it was hair raising when they did it TOGETHER! I am an aviation artist and a historian. I have personally worked with and interviewed over one hundred of our greatest aviators from France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States. I worked with Navy, Air Force and Marine Aces including two Medal of Honor winners. I have published a series of Famous American Aviators and Famous Allied and Axis Pilots. In my series I published 84 Limited Edition prints of which seventy-eight have been personally autographed by the aviators.
