So achieve a refined, yet classic look with this Bulova ‘Wrist Alarm’ incorporated into your wardrobe. DETAILS: Case: ‘Wrist Alarm’ model. Very sophisticated and noticeably different with a unique and unusual design incorporating elongated angular lugs mounting the band. Original and signed BULOVA on the back, marked ‘M9’ for 1969. The 40µm gold plated bezel and stainless steel case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. The case back has an almost mirrored finish. In general the case looks good with modest wear/scratches commensurate with the age of the watch. The watch is NOT waterproof. Crowns: Both crowns are original signed ‘Bulova’, showing some wear. Dial: The pearl tone dial is in its original condition and showing age related wear, scuffs and patina. Please take a moment to be sure you are happy with this. The quarter hour positions are marked with double thickness angular rectangular markers whilst the remaining hour positions are single thickness. These along with the ‘Bulova’ name are gilt and slightly raised on the dial. There is an inner minute chapter in the form of incised ‘dots’. ‘Wrist Alarm’, ‘swiss’ and ‘waterproof’ are in black. The hour positions along with the hour and minute hands have been relumed and now glow well in the dark. Despite what it says on the dial the watch is NOT waterproof. Hands: The hour and minute hands are original, gilt, pitched ‘Dauphine’ style. The sweep second hand and ‘lightening’ style alarm hand are also original the latter being blue/black steel and a red arrow tip. Movement: BULOVA high quality Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 11AERC calibre with 17 jewels marked ‘M8’ for 1968. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and is running well, keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended. The alarm function works exactly as it should. Size: Round, approx. 34.10mm in diameter. Approx. 41.17mm lug to lug. Band: A new 18mm black leather band with gilt buckle has been fitted complementing the timepiece perfectly. ________________________________________________________________________________ General comments: This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Wrist Alarm’ manual wind watch from 1969 which has been restored to appeal once again – and as I’m sure you will agree, it certainly does.
