Description: Exceedingly Rare Charles Robertson Single Signed ONL (Giles) Baseball. His major league debut began on the field with the 1919 Chicago Black Sox! He was the last surviving member of the infamous Black Sox team and passed away in 1984. Robertson is best remembered for throwing a perfect game in 1922, during only the fourth start of his career. He became the first Major League pitcher to throw a perfect game on the road, doing so against Ty Cobb's 1922 Detroit Tigers who had previously set an AL record with a .316 BA in 1921. Robertson is the key to completing a perfect game pitchers collection. This is one of only 3 legitimates examples single signed balls known to exist. The signature is signed in blue fountain pen "Chas C. Robertson" and rates approximately 8/10 in strength. It is signed on a Official National League (Giles) ball and is in excellent condition with only some very minor toned spots. This is more or less a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a very rare and desirable single signed baseball. In 2011 Heritage Auctions sold a lesser quality example for $8,962. Includes JSA LOA.
