From the point of flower to fruit maturity is typically 5-7 months. Eating one of these home grown pineapple is well worth the wait! OTHER TIPS In colder regions be sure to set or plant near a south facing wall, as this is typically the warmest area. Container grown pineapples make for easy over wintering, just bring them to an area that will not drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Then move back to full sun area once the weather warms up. Inside is fine, just be sure to keep them in a bright area. They make a nice houseplant. Keep soil moist during the growing season. Once the plant fruits, the original plant will die off. However you will notice many new "pups" emerging from the base of the original plant long before then. These pups can be divided, to give you a ongoing supply.
