Description: Absolutely stunning, these two large, matching Cloisonné vases are in excellent condition, which highlights the intricate and highly skilled craftsmanship which is typical in Chinese enamel work. The Cloisonné technique originated during the Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368), and involved applying colored enamels within delicate metal wire compartments, “cloisons,” on a copper surface. These two exquisite vases stand 15.5" high, the colors are bright and beautiful, and the brass inlay is superb. Purchased from a reputable Beverly Hills, CA. antique dealer in 1984, (See Receipt Image - # 7) and have been on display and untouched since that date. These vases are true collectors’ treasures! The pictures certainly do not do them justice. Thanks for looking –
