Description: The Presidential Decoration "The Cross of Military Merit" was established to recognize servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine for: outstanding personal bravery and courage or an outstanding heroic act during a combat mission in conditions of danger to life and direct contact with the enemy; outstanding success in the management of troops (forces) during military (combat) operations (Decree of the President of Ukraine V. Zelenskyy of May 5, 2022, No. 314/2022). The highest military award of the UPA and UGVR, the Cross of Military Merit, designed by the famous Ukrainian artist Nil Khasevych, served as a model for the development of the award. The Cross of Combat Merit is made of silver with gilding and looks like a straight equilateral cross with the image of the Sign of the Princely State of Volodymyr the Great in the center. The first to be awarded the military decoration: General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain Vladyslav Kaliyevskyi, Sergeant Daria Mazurenko, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysiuk, and Colonel Oleksandr Okhrimenko. The Cross of Military Merit was designed by Oleksandr Lezhnev. All products are original.
