Description: Figural Spelter Cherub Putti Cupid Statue Lamp with Art Nouveau Etched Shade. Beautiful Spelter Cherub holding up a large art nouveau style shade. Measures approx. 7 inches at base and 8 inches at the widest part of the shade. Approx. 28 inches tall from bottom of base to top of shade. Signed Mastais, France and a Medallion that I am unable to read. Plaque on base reads “Bergere.” Shade is etched with an art Nouveau Floral pattern and is a Vianne French shade with a 4 inch fitter. Statue itself is Spelter with a bronze finish. The torch the Cherub is Holding is solid brass. This lamp would look great in a Victorian period home. This lamp also would lend itself well to top a newel post. Age unknown, if I were to guess first half 20th century. Has minor wear consistent with age.
