Description: The Boeing 757 is an American narrow-body, twin jet airliner designed and manufactured by the Boeing Commercial Airplanes Division. It was made as a successor to the Boeing 727 tri-jet. It had it's maiden flight on 19 February, 1982. The original version 757-200 was introduced into service with Eastern Airlines on 01 January 1983. The 757-300 series is a stretched version of the 757-200, and was launched in September of 1996, and began service in March of 1999. The 757-300 has a 23.4 foot stretch added to the fuselage. This provided for an additional 50 passengers and an almost 50% increase in cargo capacity. There were 1,050 models manufactured with 55 of those 757-300 models. Continental Airlines was a major United States airline founded in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines, and eventually headquartered in Houston, Texas. In 1981, Texas International Airlines acquired a controlling interest in Continental and the two were merged in 1982. Continental merged with United Airlines with the integration being completed in March of 2012. The merged airline retained the United name. Prior to the merger, Continental had 350 aircraft in service. The airline had 62 Boeing 757's in service with 21 of those the '300 series. Many of Continental's original fleet are still in service with United. This 757-300 with registration N75851 had its maiden flight on 26 November 2001. It was delivered to Continental on 20 December 2001. In October of 2010, the Continental livery was changed to United Airlines, where this aircraft continues to provide service today.
