Description: Flood and Drain Kit for your Aquaponics / Hyroponics System This kit will allow the water level in your grow bed to reach your determined height. After your timer has turned off, the water will drain from a 1/4" hole drilled into the bottom of the standpipe. 1 1/2" of water will remain in the grow bed after it has drained. The standpipe is 1" wide. This size is great for larger systems. It's best to keep the water to 1" to 2" below the surface of your medium. The water in your grow bed should not get the surface wet. This will cause algae to build up and steal precious nutrients from your plants. The 4" wide media guard will be cut to approx. 2" above your growing surface. Select your water level hight from the drop down menu above. I have built many of these for different size systems. Please don't hesitate to ask me questions about your Aquaponics system. I'll do my best to give you my expert opinion. Included: One 4" wide pvc thin wall media guard.One 1" wide standpipe with a 1/4" drain hole. Measure from the bottom of your grow bed to approx. 1" to 2" below the growing surface. The Bell Siphon is approx. 2" taller than the standpipe.
