The helmet comes with a COA from Professional Sports Authentications (PSA/DNA) and has a matching helmet ticker authenticating the signature. PSA is one of the most respected authenticators in the business. Frank's team numerals have also been added to the front of the helmet for a more authentic look. Frank Gifford was a former star football player and television sports broadcaster. After being a First-team All-American at USC in 1951, Frank was drafted by the New York Giants, with whom he played his entire 12 year career (1952-1960, 1962-1964). He played both offense and defense and was selected to the Pro Bowl at 3 different positions; defensive back, running back and flanker. Frank led the Giants to a NFL Championship in 1956 and he was named the NFL MVP that season. In his career, Frank was named to 8 Pro Bowls and was a 6-time 1st Team All-Pro selection. He is a member of both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame and he was named to the NFL 1950's All-Decade Team. After retiring from play, Frank became one of the best known sports broadcasters of his day. Not only did he cover football, but also golf basketball and the Olympics. Frank was one of the original broadcasters on Monday Night Football and along with Howard Cosell and Dan Meredith, he formed one of the most famous broadcasting teams in NFL history. Frank won 2 Emmy Awards as a broadcaster and in 1995 he received the Peter Rozelle Radio-Television Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Sadly, Frank passed away at age 84 in 2015. Frank was truly one of the faces of the NFL, both on the playing field and in the broadcasting booth. His team helmet would be a wonderful gift for any Giants or NFL football fan.
