Description: This neat, historical, censored(#37?) cover was sent from Habana, Kuba, to Newport, Rhode Island, on April 24, 1900, by a first lieutenant with the U.S. 2nd Artillery named Dwight Aultman! From online research, the sender of this cover appears to be none other than the much decorated(throughout his career in the Army, but especially during WW1!) Dwight Edward Aultman! The addressee was the First National Bank in Newport, likely where Lt. Aultman had been stationed prior to the start of the Spanish-American War in 1898. To continue, the red, 2-Centavos definitive fro U.S.-occupied Kuba is in very good condition! The black, duplex cancel from the Habana P.O. is quite excellent! As for the envelope, itself, it's in quite fine shape considering it's more 124 years old! There are some minor stains on either side. There are two, small tears in it, too. The back flap is at least 95% intact. All in all, though, this cover is an attractive piece of U.S. Army postal history related to the the Spanish-American War, and a well-known, and respected U.S. officer, then-First Lieutenant, Dwight Edward Aultman! It even has his name on it in his own handwriting(a pseudo-autograph!)!
