Description: Nice stamp showing a clear and well placed rare Waialua town postmark. Hard to find a better example. This postmark had limited usage from about April 1882 until November 1898. Meyer Harris # 282.013 It is estimated that there are less than 500 known examples. Even though the side ornament is not visible, the comma after Waialua is, as is the 1891 date, confirming the Meyer Harris identification of the earlier (and less common) of the two CDS postmarks used at this post office. This example is from about a month before the outer ring broke above the "L", which occurred about halfway between the estimated time periods of this postmark's usage. So, it could be assumed that there are less than 250 known examples from this time period, fewer still showing the outer ring where the break occurred.
