The underground floors of some of the garages were used as ice houses and storage for "boot-leg" whiskey. At one time the building served as a stage coach stop from Reading to Bernville.In 1922, it became the Robesonia State Bank. The building held a post office, barber shop, truck garages and five apartments.In the late 1920's, Robert Q. Kintzer hauled a 14-foot bank clock from the Wyomissing Bank to the Robesonia Bank, where it became a popular landmark.
