Description: Original Indian War Era US M1873 Type III Socket Bayonet & Model 1885 Scabbard w/US Brass Hook Frog - Blade is US marked - Very NICE Condition - RAREUp for sale is an Original Indian War Era US Model 1873 Type III Socket Bayonet. This bayonet has the US marking. This was used by the US Army. This bayonet will fit the M1873 Trapdoor rifle. The blade and socket are in Very NICE Condition. A few minor nicks along the edge of the blade. The bayonet is 21" overall length, with a 3" socket, 18" blade and 16 3/4" face flute. It also includes the M1885 Metal Scabbard with a Leather Frog & Brass US Hook. The scabbard has a blue finish. The are some minor wear on the finish. No dents or dings in the scabbard. The leather frog is the US Model 1873, the leather is soft and supple. Some minor wrinkling and surface cracks in the leather. There are no visible marking on the leather frog. This is a very NICE example of this very popular bayonet, don't miss your chance to bid. See photo's for condition.
