Description: Beautifully hand made intarsia piece. New, never hung. Rottweiler puppy on pillow . This was a gift to me in 2007. I never had the perfect place to hang it so it has been in box for many years. This piece is gorgeous, made of 53 pieces and 6 types of wood- wenga, walnut, gaboon ebony, aspen, white limba, and blood wood. The artist that made these pieces used many different wood types with varying textures and colors so he never stained his pieces .. the rich color comes from the different wood type. The type of wood was selected to convey the textures of the picture he was making. As you can see the pieces used to make the puppy’s body are cut and placed to look directional and like fur.
