Description: One of the few Verne titles not published by the British firm Sampson Low, this Lippincott edition contains all three of the tales involved in the search for the Missing Captain Grant. Heavily illustrated, this rare volume is in wonderful condition with all the Engravings intact to the best of my knowledge. This is a very nice edition with green boards (as opposed to the blue or terra cotta) with gilt medallion decoration on the front with. A wonderful sailing vessel and black embossed decorations around the edge. The binding has gilt and black decorations (see photos). The previous owner(s) has written their names on first spare page (1873, 1890) but otherwise, just a pristine copy. Please do not hesitate to email with questions or for more pictures. Very Good Condition: 8vo (9” X 6 1/4” X 1 7/8”), green boards with gilt and black decorations; heavily decorated spine with gilt and black. Slight scuffing and paint loss. Some evidence of reading and age appropriate change in paper. “A Voyage Round the World: In Search of the Castaways: A Romantic Narrative of the Loss of Captain Grant of the Brig Britannia and of the Adventures of His Children and Friends in his Discovery and Rescue”.
