It is heavy weighing in at just over 2 pounds before packing to ship. 36 squares make up the grid, each approximately 1-1/2 inch square. A total of 28 chrome round beads cover the ends of each curved chrome rod so there are no sharp edges anywhere. Three larger beads/balls serve as feet to keep the grid balanced and raise it above the surface. Unsure when this was made most likely a modern piece with a very mid-century modern look.
