Long Beach Music Fest Poster- Marc Almera, Southern Discomfort, OO Soul 10/25/03

Description: Dirty Queen Records presents “Long Beach Local Music Festival”, 10/25/03 at the Seaport Marina Hotel in beautiful Long Beach California. This festival featured local bands like Southern Discomfort, Breakin Daddys, OO soul, Badfish, One Draw, Koniption Fit, Split Decision and Brokedown. Printed by "Lizzy" I lived in Long Beach for many years and I spotted this poster stapled to a telephone pole the day of the festival. I thought it was a cool poster even though I didnt really know any of the bands listed, so I grabbed it. I removed it as carefully as I could but it had 3 heavy duty staples in it, so its got a couple of holes in it from that, its bent/creased a bit around the bottom staple hole, and it has a couple wrinkles. I took a pic of the back of the poster, you can see the staple holes and wrinkles better against the white background. Its on very nice quality, heavy cardstock paper. I wasnt familiar with Marco Almera at the time I found this poster but in the years since, I learned that he's a well known artist in the LA / Orange county area. It looks like he sometimes goes by Marc these, and as far as I can tell, it looks like he has pretty much stopped making art, except for a series of black velvet paintings based on legends of punk rock that he paints ever few years- which can be seen at my favorite bar in Long Beach, Ca- Alex's (they are super bitchin- google Marco Almera black velvet paintings alex's bar). NOTE- This print has several staple holes and creases! I pulled it off a telephone pole on the day of the festival over 20 years ago-
