Description: LONGINES Swiss pocket watch porcelain dial, NOS, new old stock, for Francisco Alvarez’s La Especial watch shop in Havana Cuba located at 15-1/2 O’Reilly Street. Unusual pocket watch, of interest to collectors as it is a Swiss watch for the Cuban market. The owner of the Havana watch shop was Don Francisco Alvarez and his watchmaking shop with imported watch brands was “La Especial”. The dial is in white porcelain with black Roman numerals. On the outer perimeter are 60 second hand markings in Arabic numerals every 5 seconds with hash marks in between. There is a seconds hand at the VI o’clock position. At the 12 o’clock position, is LONGINES La ESPECIAL DE FRANCISCO ALVAREZ HABANA The dial has one imperfection, a thin fracture line in the porcelain runs from between the 47 and 48 second hash marks diagonally towards the center of the dial. There is no bend or warping to the dial. A nice rare well preserved dial.
