This is for a handmade 7" round jewelry / vanity / desk or table box by the French luxury company R & Y Augousti, founded in 1989 in Paris France. The round wooden box is covered with snakeskin and has a unique Art Deco inspired round rayed brass & inlaid shagreen / stingray skin decorative abstract sun, possibly flower, mounted on the lid. The lid lifts off to a lush, thick and rigid velvet liner inside which is removeable revealing the finished wooden interior. So one can use with or without the velvet liner. A very unique and worthy jewelry box for you fragile treasures. Bottom has company logo and " R & Y AUGOUSTI, PARIS ". Note sure of the exact date on this, I was told by family estate it was from the 1990's. Coloring is what I would call a tan -ish apricot overall. It's a warm neutral color. Made in the Phillipines I believe. Beautiful pre-owned condition with light age appropriate surface wear on the snakeskin in places around edges. I tried to show examples but they are hard to capture and see due to the snakeskin sheen and the coloring, this natural use wear is not immediately obvious. Shagreen inlaid brass rayed circle design in beautiful condition with no loss or issues. Interior wood great as is the velvet liner. Light age appropriate wear on box bottom. Measures approx. 7" across x 2-1/4" tall. to top edge, brass/shagreen design sits above that. Velvet liner inside measures approx. 5-3/16" inner diameter x almost 1-1/2" deep.
