Description: This is a rare original doll made by the American Doll company, Madame Alexander Doll Company. This adorable doll is a full body cloth doll, she wears a sheer, baby blue night gown with a lace trim with a white under-dress. a bonnet tied by a pink ribbon, and has neat blonde curls made from yarn. The doll's eyes are side-glancing bright blues, her cheeks are a soft yellow blush, a rosy pout. and one-stroke eyebrows.This particular is estimated to have been made between the 1930's-40's. 12" Tall9" Wingspan4" Body Width Examine the photos above to see some of the wear and stains around her gown, arms, and legs. These dolls come from the collection of my dear friend’s mother. She was an art historian by training and had a keen eye for beauty and quality. She collected many types of things----parts of her collections were featured in museum shows that traveled across America. She was a third generation Californian and some of her collection would have come from family. I do not know the history of individual pieces but I do know that they were lovingly curated and cared for by her as a collection.
