Description: Here is a Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f1.7 lens. Minolta made FOUR versions of the 50mm f1.7 lens. April, 1973 (Minolta MC Rokkor-X) -- This 50mm f1.7 was the first with a 7/5 optical design. June, 1977 (Minolta MD Rokkor-X) -- This updated the MC model, with a 6/5 optical design and focused two inches closer. March, 1979 (Minolta MD Rokkor-X) -- This model has a smaller, 49mm filter thread. June, 1981 (Minolta MD) -- This final model stopped down to f22, instead of f16. This auction is for the SECOND of Minolta's 50mm f1.7 lenses -- the first Minolta MD Rokkor-X model. It has the six elements in five groups optical design and the MD Rokkor-X multi-coatings. This lens has a Minolta MD lens mount, and will fit and function perfectly on any manual-focusing Minolta SLR (from the first SR-2 to the last X-370), as well as many other SLRs from Seagull, Phoenix, Kalimar, Soligor, Vivitar -- that have a Minolta SR lens mount. It will also work on any Minolta MAXXUM film camera with an appropriate adapter -- NOT INCLUDED. It will also work on Minolta or Sony DIGITAL DSLR cameras with an appropriate adapter -- NOT INCLUDED. It will also work on many other DIGITAL cameras with removable lenses (Canon, Nikon, etc.) with an appropriate adapter -- NOT INCLUDED. The lens replaced the earlier MD 50mm f1.7 lens from Minolta, and is more compact. It has a 55mm filter thread, very lightweight, has all-metal construction, has distance marked in feet and meters, IR mark, click stops at all half-f-stops, and is multi-coated. The lens is in great shape -- see photos. Obviously this lens has not been used very much. All functions work perfectly. Focusing is smooth with no grit or grinding. Not too loose, not too stiff. The SIX aperture blades are free of oil, work perfectly, and are very snappy! The glass and coatings are in great shape -- no dust, scratches, nicks, fungus, oil, scrapes, nicks, etc. The cosmetics are also great -- the coloring is bright. No scrapes, scratches, dings, dents, etc. Only minor signs of use on the lens mount -- see pictures. This lens comes with a 55mm Quantaray 1A (Skylight) filter, and rear lens cap -- see first photo.
