Mike Patton's deep, melodramatic vocals on "Anger Management" sound like it could have come straight from Histoire De Melody Nelson, Gainsbourg's own concept album dedicated to obsessive and ultimately tragic love. Jennifer Charles' simpering vocals on the other hand are more than a nod to Gainsbourg's muse Jane Birkin. But "Lovage" with its sleepy trip hop beats is much more than an updated Gainsbourg pastiche, it's a guide, an instruction manual if you will--and if it helped Chest Rockwell, it just might help you!.
