Description: LONG WAVE UV A bit different Nepheline Syenite var. Yooperlite as its mainly Nepheline and Sodalite! Almost solid Grey/white Nepheline with micro grains of Sodalite make this one quite different from all of the other more typical looking ones I have collected. I decided to crack it in half to get a look at a fresh interior and discovered very little other than more Sodalite.. I did note some very tiny Zircon crystals one of the two halves (not sure if its this one or the other to be listed later on. Fluoresces very well under long wave UV (Convoy S2 recommended, I have some in my store) Collected in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin along the Lake Michigan shoreline. 40 grams. Just over 1-1/2" across. NOTE!I use a ConvoyS2 LONG WAVE 365nm UV flashlight with a band pass filter installed for finding these and the photos, you will need one as well to see the fluorescence as nicely as seen in photos.
