The regular Firebird has a rose fingerboard, but the Custom uses an ebony fingerboard. Not only does it have a luxurious feel, but it also has the thick tone of a mahogany body, while also achieving the fast-starting sound characteristic of an ebony fingerboard. Also, it has a set neck instead of a through neck, but the heel is small so it can be played in a high position. Since it does not have a through-neck structure, there is no difference in the body, resulting in a seamless and beautiful body line. The pickup uses 490/498, and has a powerful sound that will not be crushed even with deeply distorted high gain such as HR/HM.
