Description: Here we have a scarce gravy boat with underplate from Noritake (Japan) in the retired fine bone China pattern, Gold and Sable. Sleek black border rimmed in an embossed gold with raised enamel oxblood red dots. Gold verge. The underplate is designed to also be used as a butter serving plate. We have quite a few serving pieces in this pattern available in our store, including two sizes of platters, a round serving bowl, two oval serving bowls, a gravy with underplate, and a set of salt and pepper shakers. Vintage: this pattern was in production from 1988-2002 Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. This set, like all of the other pieces in this estate collection, was only ever displayed in an enclosed glass cabinet. It was never actually used, but because it was kept in someone's home for twenty years, we list it as used. As you would expect, it is a very fresh and clean set in minty condition with no signs of use or abuse. No chips, cracks, silver/gray utensil marks, stains, or gold loss. No scratches, not even the completely colorless kind that can only be seen when the piece is held up at just the right angle to a bright source of light. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
