OPA stands for Office of Price Administration OPA Tokens were used as "change" for WWII ration stamps but had no monetary value All OPA tokens had a value of one point They were issued from 1944 to 1945 Made by the Osborne Register Company in Cincinnati, OH 50 billion were produced which could fill 37 railcars They are made of vulcanized fiber (celluloid) and are 16mm in size There are 24 different letter combinations known for the Blue tokens and 30 for the Red Blue Tokens were used for processed food, Red Tokens for meats and fats The letter combinations appear to be random although various theories abound There are only about 800 Red MV tokens known, the rarest of the tokens.
