Offered for bid is a set of three hand-crafted hunting and fishing spears from the Sepik Region, Papua new Guinea. Two have carved tips with barbs or spikes and ridges to keep the game on the spear, and also and can be decorative and still have the symbolic meaning of spirits, speed and power. The spear is a tribal wood spear and shows the skill and workmanship of the tribal hunters and crafters. Spears are used for fishing and ceremonies and meant to intimidate the prey. This set of Spears would be a wonderful item to add to your home or collection. Hunting Spear is 44 inches long, and may have ceremonial or display purposes. Fishing Spears (2) are 50 inches long, and have three prongs with barbs.
