Description: PETER RABBIT'S BOOK SHELF. 23 titles by Beatrix Potter. The books are undated, probably from the 1950s. The price on the jackets is 3/6 net each. Sixteen of the books have jackets, most of which are complete, four missing part of the spine. All books are cream paper over boards with a color illustration laid on the front cover, contents printed on glossy paper. The books in jackets are all in very good condition. Three of those without jackets (Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes, The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, and The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle) are very good. The Tale of Ginger & Pickles and The Tale of Peter Rabbit both have a little damage from dampness but are sound. The Tale of Mr. Tod and The Tale of Two Bad Mice are water damaged, with the latter having several peeled and unreadable. I am including these two in order to keep the others upright in the shelf, but they will need to be replaced. The shelf is sound with a few scratches, some paint loss at the top and age-toning to the paper labels.
